Marching Band / Concert Band

Our Marching and Concert Band program allows students to grow as musicians while representing our school at performances throughout the year. During the summer, students participate in band camp, where they learn our marching show and prepare for the upcoming season.

The Marching Band performs at football games, pep rallies, Fiesta parades, school events, and marching competitions.

During concert season, students focus on developing their musicianship through concert and UIL-style music. The Concert Band performs at school concerts and other events throughout the year.

Beginning Band

Beginning Band is designed for students who have little to no previous experience playing a concert band instrument. Students learn the fundamentals of music, including reading music, proper playing technique, tone production, and ensemble skills.

This class gives students a strong foundation to prepare them for future participation in our Concert Band and Marching Band programs.

Modern Band

Our Modern Band program is a great opportunity for students who are interested in songwriting, recording music, performing live, or playing popular styles of music. Students explore music from artists and groups such as Metallica, Green Day, Bruno Mars, and more while developing their skills as musicians and performers.

Modern Band 1

Students do not need previous experience to join Modern Band 1. If you have always wanted to learn bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano/keyboard, drum set, or vocals, this is a great place to start. Students learn the fundamentals of their instrument while working together as a band and building confidence through performance.

Modern Band 2 / Advanced Modern Band is designed for students who already have a strong understanding of their instrument and are ready for more advanced performances. Our Modern Band groups have opportunities to perform at live gigs and community events. Past performances have included the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Beethoven Männerchor, Chicken N Pickle, and more.

Percussion Class

Percussion is an advanced performance class for students who are part of the drumline and front ensemble. Students develop their skills on marching and concert percussion instruments while learning advanced rhythms, technique, music reading, and ensemble performance.

Percussion students are an important part of the marching band and perform at football games, pep rallies, parades, marching competitions, and other school and community events. During marching season, students perform either on the field as part of the drumline or in the front ensemble.

Students also perform with the concert band and continue developing their musicianship through concert percussion, percussion ensemble music, and other performance opportunities throughout the school year.
